Last youth group our topic of discussion was “RAMA” To help us increase our attachment for Lord Rama, we divided into groups to create poems on Lord Rama. The catch was that each person in the group had to write one line of the poem, pass it on to the next person who was then only allowed to look at the previous person’s line to write their own line!
The outcome was in some cases sweet and in other cases hilarious.
Check it out:
Sunaina, Kandarpa and Pooja wrote:
He is the God of everyone
His mercy and goodness leaves little time for fun
But it's more rewarding that any material "junk"
devotional service is the most fun
finding your way back to Rama,
to Krishna is when your life's just begun
That is the true goal of life
and we should take advantage to reach it through this human form of life
Reena, Mohini and Sitala wrote:
Lord Rama killed the demon Ravana,
who was the king of Lanka.
Rama was always there to save Sita
and save her He did from the land of Lanka
His pastimes are always cherished.
His name will never be perished.
Nandu, Caitanya, Kartik and Manoj wrote the classic:
Lord Rama is the most honourable one
Lord that came in the line of the sun
He has so much strength, he can surely run!
He has a devotee, who swallowed the sun,
who also burned Lanka thinking it was fun!
Rescue Sita, he was the only one,
but he surely got the job done
and had the demons on the run!
This wonderful katha can be discussed over milk and buns…
